Decarbonizing Your Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise to Ensure Its Long-Term Viability
Decarbonization is no longer just a regulatory requirement; it is a driver of competitiveness: it enables companies to differentiate themselves in the marketplace, gain access to financing, control costs, strengthen their value chain, and attract and retain talent.
But how can an SME or mid-sized company turn these challenges into opportunities and concrete action plans?
Carbone 4 invites you to a strategic webinar to explore the key factors for a successful transition.
What's on the agenda
- Introduction
- Survey: "Where does your company stand in terms of maturity in its decarbonization process?"
- Insights into the major challenges and benefits (bidding processes, customer retention, risk management, etc.) of a successful decarbonization action plan
- An in-depth discussion with our three key speakers on proven keys to success based on your company’s size and maturity
- A brief overview of government assistance programs to help fund this initiative in your company (Diag décarbon’action, ACT Pas à Pas, etc.)
- Q&A Session
Key witnesses and experts at this session
- Lucile BRAND, Senior Manager of the Finance Division at Carbone 4

The 3 key strategies to implement:
- Bringing Together the Driving Forces: It is important—and indeed necessary—to create a think tank comprising “decarbonization champions” from each business unit (motivated employees who are ready to serve as drivers of change beyond the CSR team);
“The key point was really to break down the silos surrounding this issue across different teams [...] by creating an internal team—a project team—with representatives from each business unit. […] When it comes to the vehicle fleet, for example, we’re looking for ambassadors—the first employees who are receptive to the idea and willing to make the switch from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles—so we can gather feedback and get other employees on board.”
- Collaborating with customers and suppliers: To drive change, you need to engage in dialogue with your customers as soon as possible to identify their expectations and turn decarbonization into a genuine competitive advantage;
"What's in it for the customer? Because while it's true that a commitment is being made on these CSR issues, the financial aspect is still important."
- Prioritize and adapt: Avoid launching all initiatives at once; instead, take a gradual, pragmatic, and agile approach.
"The pitfall here [...] is to avoid trying to do everything at once when you start a decarbonization strategy. It’s better to get your company or organization on board gradually over several years and achieve quick wins. […] If you wait until you have everything in place before starting, you’ll already be falling behind.”
